When Scott joined the school concert band at the ripe age of 9, he had two goals on his mind: to play at the Cape Breton International Drum Festival and to get some serious groupies that only drummers do. Nine years later, Scott has achieved one of his goals by participating in the Otarion showcase. Scott has lived his drumming life according to one piece of advice he was given when setting up for a gig: “Set the drums up the way you want them so you can play them the way you want them”. Sound advice from a sound guy.

Scott plays with his school's concert, marching, and jazz band at Glace Bay High School , pit orchestra ensembles, and countless bad garage bands. This year Scott will be heading out to Saskatchewan to take part in the Canadian Band Associations National Youth Band. Scott is in his grade 12 year and plans to go in to music in his post-secondary education. Even if all does not go well, the Pan Canadian New Folk Ensemble puts it perfect when they say “You can always live on rice and potatoes”.
