Originally from Eastern Ontario , Scott Atkins has over 23 years of experience in Rudimental Drumming. With a formal education in audio engineering, Scott has spent most of his life playing drums, teaching marching drumline programs, arranging music and teaching privately. He is a former member of the “Chris Mulligan Band”, originally known as “Pomoja”. They released two CD's: “The Undiscovered” in 2001 and “You Get What You Get” in 2006. (Indiepool).   Scott got involved with the competitive Drum Corps activity in 1986.

He has developed technical exercise programs and written musical productions for several marching groups, including the Lampliters, the Empire Loyalists, the Blue Saints, and the Phillipine Heritage Marching Band. In 1997, Scott began teaching in Kingston , Ontario , and today holds the position of Program Coordinator and Percussion Arranger for the 2004 World A Class Drum Corps Associates Champion: The Kingston Grenadiers Drum & Bugle Corps.

He joined the Vic Firth Education Team in 2002, and has been an honourary member of the (I.A.T.A.) International Association of Rudimental Drummers since January 2006. He has led Workshops in Canada , the U.S. and Germany , and has performed at several clinics and festivals with world-renowned drummer: Steve Smith .   Now based out of Pointe-Claire , Quebec , Scott spends most of his time as an artist relations manager and product specialist with one of Canada 's largest musical instrument distribution companies.

He has been the tour manager for several educational clinic tours in Canada for artists such as: Steve Smith, Thomas Lang, the Drumbassadors, Jojo Mayer, Benny Greb, Derek Roddy, Tom my Clufetos, Dave Langguth, Emmanuelle Caplette, & Gavin Harrison. In addition to his full-time work schedule, he participates in several drumline projects and events in Canada , teaches private lessons & records music from his home studio. Scott plays: Sonor Drums, Vic Firth Sticks & Sabian Cymbals.
