Nick Rich started playing drums almost before he could walk. He was given his first drum set by Remo Belli at the age of 18 months, and played his first “gig” at two, sitting on his grandfather's lap at Disneyland .

He hasn't stopped playing since.

After a successful career in television commercials as a child, Rich got serious about drums in middle school. At 15, he joined his first band and had the opportunity to study with one of his drumming heroes, Travis Barker. He credits one lesson with Dave Weckl a couple of years later for taking him to yet another level of playing.

Rich is not only a talented drummer, he is also a singer, writer, and producer. His recent recording credits include working with platinum-selling artist Ray J, and underground sensation Opium Alibi, currently working on their new album at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas . The album is produced and engineered by Mark Grey, the man behind The Killers Sams Town, Guns ‘n' Roses Chinese Democracy, and Britney Spears Blackout.

Nick was asked to play at the 2008 Buddy Rich Memorial Concert and true to the Rich legacy, made the night his own. When asked what it was like to play in his grandfather's big band, Nick replied, “It was very surreal, like a dream.”

Nick is currently studying with Thomas Lang and is honoured to have been asked to play at the Cape Breton International Drum Festival.
