The Otarion Showcase gives local drummers a chance to strut their stuff on the main stage. Named after its first supporter, Otarion Hearing (Sydney, Nova Scotia), the showcase aims to promote performers in our community and reward those who have worked hard to learn the craft. David Moffatt (of Otarion) has been a major sponsor of the Cape Breton International Drum Festival since its inception in 2001. He has fully endorsed what the festival is all about, as well as Festival organizer Bruce Aitken's firm belief that drummers' hearing protection is paramount. |

David has led the way for local businesses by supporting the Festival. Each year, he supplies hearing protection for the attendees free of charge, and the Festival organizers encourage the attendees to use the protection. The Otarion Show Case is a testament to the commitment that both David and Bruce have to looking after musicians' greatest asset - their hearing.
