In 2005, the first Legends Award was presented to Hal "The Drummer Man" Blaine, in recognition of the outstanding contribution he has made to music.
While the word "legend" is often used incorrectly to describe some musicians, it truly pertains to those who have contributed to music in a way that has shaped the industry and changed how others view and play drums and percussion.
We hope that by presenting these awards, we will make aware to a new generation the contribution that really is legendary - in the true sense of the word.
The 2010 recipients will include Roxy Petrucci, Virgil Donati, Jerry Mercer, Alan White, and Carmine Appice.
